Taste Buds

Hello all!

Just a quick one today to say that my taste buds appear to be changing I used to hate the taste of various vegetables (I thought they had no taste). For instance, Broccoli used to make me sick! However I now love the taste of the little blighters!!

I am also starting to crave different foods day to day. The idea of sugar now no longer appeals to me. I am craving fat and other carbs depending on what I have done physically.

Has anyone found anything similar?

  1. hey Andy: I have also noticed changes to my taste buds in the 4 months that I've been grain and sugar free, and one of the most interesting is that food tastes so much better! More intense, more satisfying, I don't know why this is, but I like it!

  2. GOD yes.

If I even THINK about getting a meal that's not full of oils and butter I get all teary. I feel SO out of sorts when I eat my mother-in-law's low-fat fare, I mean I get restless and want to root through her fridge for the butter. I crave the fat in the same way I used to crave carbs. I totally don't enjoy the sugar the way I used to, seriously. Today I had half a bar of super dark chocolate, and I am NOT craving the rest of it. 6 months ago I would have eaten the two bars I bought and eaten 4 rounds of toast with honey and scavanged in my food drawers for milo and stuff. Now? Meh. Don't care. Don't feel the need even though the chocolate is sitting just 10 metres from me, all rich and brown and bitter and YUMMY! Hehe. I have a LOT to thank the Primal/Paleo way of life.

  3. Thats interesting guys... thanks for the info!
